FinTech: Open Banking, the start of a market transformation?
29 May 2019 | Microsoft Center, Brussels
A year after the EU’s revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) was brought into effect in January 2018, progress towards more innovative and competitive banking systems in Europe is steady and ongoing. The development of secure access channels (APIs) to banking account data is well underway by the major market players - albeit, in some instances with a few technical teething problems - and current indications show that the appetite is there for innovative new solutions in the banking sphere. Nevertheless, there are still numerous questions to be answered around the impact on the banking industry.
Timed to take place during a critical testing phase for banking APIs, the FinTech Tech Table will bring together approximately 20 key stakeholders from banking, third parties and regulators to ask how financial institutions are gearing up to the next major open banking deadline on 14 September 2019 with the introduction of the regulatory technical standards on SCA (strong customer authentication) and SCS (secure open standards of communication).
By invitation-only, if you are interested in attending the FinTech Tech Table or for more information, please contact James Wilmott on firstname.lastname@example.org.
